FEMA Message
Urgent message concerning FEMA cleanup!
As most of you probably noticed, the first FEMA sponsored pickup of hurricane debris was completed over the last week. This first pass was mainly focused on the larger debris that was more hazardous and posed a risk of injury or to property. The FEMA sponsored crews said they will be returning over the next few weeks to continue the cleanup effort in the neighborhood. They have been reassigned to address more urgent areas and therefore can't tell us exactly when they will return.
In the meantime, Graham McArver of PLAYGreen will continue to finish the work he and his team had graciously agreed to perform and will be wrapping up that work soon. There will continue to be some debris remaining in the neighborhood until the FEMA sponsored crews return to finish the job. Some neighbors have turned to utilizing private service providers and that may be an option for some that want faster progress for the debris removal.
We have noticed debris piles continue to be added to the road of non-hurricane related yard debris, such as fall leaves and grass clippings. FEMA/GVL county sponsored crews will not pick up those kinds of piles. They (and PLAYGreen) are only working on clearing hurricane debris.
Thanks to Graham and his PLAYGreen team for donating so much of his time to this cleanup effort!
